Norm Boshoff, M.Div., Th.M.
Addiction Destroys
Addiction destroys. Norm Boshoff knows. Alcohol cost him all he loved
and had achieved. Born in South Africa, he excelled in sports and
education (quickly acquiring two Bachelor degrees, with honors, and two
Masters Degrees in communication and theology). Norm was quickly
propelled into his first ministry as senior pastor of a “mega-church”.
While his television ministry and fundraising efforts grew very
productive, his interior personal life grew dark, sick and
non-functional.
Shame Replaced by Grace
While “leader to the leaders” on the outside, his personal secret life
was imploding under the weight of a complex disease called alcoholism.
He had no place to turn. His environment offered shame where Grace,
support and quality treatment were needed to restore his life.
A Fatal, Yet Treatable Disease
His life spiraled until he entered a spiritual 12 step program where he
learned that his addiction was complex and encompassed much more than
“moral failure”. Within a Grace-based program and personal assistance,
he has been able to live free from alcohol for over 15 years. Norm now
is able to live a lifestyle of lasting sobriety which is his daily
reprieve from his chronic condition. He immediately found deep
satisfaction in sharing his experience, strength and hope with the many
soul-sick alcoholics and addicts he encounters daily.
Healing the Whole Body
Knowing it is critical to help the family and the addict to discover the
signs and treatment in the early stages, Norm works with the whole
family in providing Grace-based intervention services. As a treatment
professional for 4 years, he has now had the satisfaction of having
watching thousands of alcoholics and addicts and their families find
restoration and begin their journey in recovery.
